About Me

My name is Matt and I am a freelance website designer based in Bedford in the UK.  I started designing websites in 2001 and since then have worked on lots of projects of varying sizes. The latest projects I've completed can be seen in my portfolio.

I have extensive knowledge of coding in HTML, JavaScript, PHP & MySQL, Visual Basic and Flash. This allows me to safely say that it is very likely that I can code exactly what you want - whatever it is. To create websites, I use a combination of Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash. Although I can code without using a WYSIWYG Editor like Dreamweaver, I use Dreamweaver to speed up the design process thus reducing the price you pay for my time.

I code all the websites I design to valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and use CSS for Formatting. To web designers, this means that I code well and to "normal web surfers" this means that the pages I design will display correctly in any web browser. You will notice icons at the bottom of every page on my site saying XHTML 1.0 and CSS - when clicked these take you to W3C - the web standards agency and validate the code on the page you are on.

I started designing websites 7 years ago and began offering my design services two years later in 2001.
